Written at the beginning of the New Year, I thought it would be a beautiful idea to give people something to look forward to as January is the month that can set the tone of a new year.
I have compiled a mini-list for people in Luxembourg, my homecountry and anyone who's planning to visit it in the near future. This post has appeared a week ago in a forum that I regularly consult since my studies in Aberdeen. Shall we begin?

Dear ladies,
I thought it would be a nice idea to share 5 secret places to visit in Luxembourg (some might not be so secret) for the New Year. Other suggestions are welcome. It would be an opportunity to seize the energy of the New Year and have something to look forward to.
St Michael's Church, City Centre: The oldest place of religious worship in Luxembourg. Even worth it for those who don't share the Catholic faith because the energy can be felt when you take time to connect. Afterwards, why not visit the spiritual shop Scarabaeus nearby?
Pabeierscheier, Bourglinster: Every Thursday from 4-7 pm and the first Sunday of the month, people are invited to discover near the castle a hidden gem for bookworms. A second-hand sale for books in many languages and across genres: https://annexes.chateaubourglinster.lu/.../pabeierscheier
Lasauvage: Explore the nature in the south and events are held in that church as well such as maker's markets.
Vianden Castle: A picturesque village in the north of Luxembourg. There are cafés, restaurants, even a cinema plus a medieval festival at the castle in July-August.
Echternach: The Basilika is impressive and do you know that even Luxembourg has a history of witch hunts? Witch trials occurred in Echternach around 1679-80. If you're not into witches, I recommend to visit two lovely shops: Quaichleker Bichereck (bookshop) for its cozy atmosphere and Mokidi ( holistic shop) for getting your lucky crystals...
Now after Luxembourg, Glasgow is on the list! :-) Maybe Aberdeen, London, Oxford, Edinburgh, Freiburg, Heidelberg and Vienna deserve a post as well? ;-)
See you soon!
With love,
Natascha
